Fargo SEASON 1 Premiere Date Set By FX
About Fargo TV Show
"Fargo" season four was put on hold due to the pandemic, but we now have an official release date. Catch the season four premiere on September 27th:
The show is created, written, directed and executive produced by Noah Hawley. The first season of "Fargo" was adapted from the 1996 film of the same name. Each subsequent season has featured a new storyline and characters. Season four of the anthology series is set to follow two rival criminal syndicates -- led by Donatello Fadda (Tomasso Ragno) and Loy Cannon (Chris Rock) -- in Kansas City, MO in 1950.
FX also announced a number of other season four cast members. In addition to the leads, we can expect to see Odis Weff (Jack Huston), Dibrell Smutney (Anji White), Josto Fadda (Jason Schwartzman), Ethelrida Pearl Smutney (E’myri Crutchfield), Rabbi Milligan (Ben Whishaw), Oraetta Mayflower (Jessie Buckley), Gaetano Fadda (Salvatore Esposito), Thurman Smutney (Andrew Bird), Leon Bittle (Jeremie Harris), Constant Calamita (Gaetano Bruno), Ebal Violante (Francesco Acquaroli), Swanee Capps (Amber Midthunder). Additional cast members include Uzo Aduba, Timothy Olyphant, and James Vincent Meredith.
When will "Fargo" Season 4 premiere?
Production on season four began in Chicago in 2019. The cast returned to Chicago to finish the final two episodes during a 25-day shoot. Unfortunately, the delay meant that "Fargo" Season 4 cannot be an EMMY contender for the 2019-2020 season. It will have to wait until the 2020-2021 award season for a possible nomination.
What is "Fargo" Season 4 about?
FX issued the following teaser, which will have to hold us over until the show can premiere later this year: "In 1950, at the end of two great American migrations - that of Southern Europeans from countries like Italy, who came to the US at the turn of the last century and settled in northern cities like New York, Chicago - and African Americans who left the south in great numbers to escape Jim Crow and moved to those same cities - you saw a collision of outsiders, all fighting for a piece of the American dream. In Kansas City, Missouri, two criminal syndicates have struck an uneasy peace. One Italian, one African American. Together they control an alternate economy - that of exploitation, graft and drugs. This too is the history of America. To cement their peace, the heads of both families have traded their youngest sons.
Chris Rock plays the head of one family, a man who - in order to prosper - has surrendered his youngest boy to his enemy, and who must in turn raise his enemy's son as his own. It's an uneasy peace, but profitable. And then the head of the Kansas City mafia goes into the hospital for routine surgery and dies. And everything changes. It's a story of immigration and assimilation, and the things we do for money. And as always, a story of basically decent people who are probably in over their heads. You know, Fargo."
Will there be a "Fargo" Season 5?
If FX plans to add another season onto this anthology series, it won't debut for a while. With the delay in production on season four, fans can expect to wait at least a year or two for the fifth installment of this show. Check back here for more updates on "Fargo" season five.
