Law and Order: Organized Crime is slated to premiere on April 1st, 2021 and will be broadcasted on NBC every Thursday at 10 p.m. ET, just after the 9 p.m. time slot of Law and Order: SVU. Here's everything we know about the show so far:
What is " Law and Order: Organized Crime" about?
Avid watchers of the series "Law and Order: SVU" can expect to see more excitement and nail-biting moments in the new spin-off series: Law and Order: Organized Crime. In the previous series Law and Order: SVU, fans will recall that they had last seen Elliot Stabler at the end of season 12 on the show. He was involved in a violent shoot-out with a younger female who fired shots in the SVU precinct. Season 13 then showed that the famous detective abruptly resigned from the force.
Law and Order: Organized Crimes dives into the future where the spin-off portrays Stabler returning to the NYPD so that he can manage the Organized Crime unit, just after he had suffered a devastating loss, according to the official synopsis from NBC.
"The city and police department have changed dramatically in the decade he's been away, and he must adapt to a criminal justice system in the midst of its own moment of reckoning," the synopsis continues. "Stabler will aim to find absolution and rebuild his life while leading an elite new task force that is taking apart the city's most powerful crime syndicates one by one."
Who stars in "Law and Order: Organized Crime" Season 1?
Christopher Meloni is slated to return to his character as Elliot Stabler, a role which he starred in for 12 seasons in total, with co-actress Mariska Hargitay's Olivia Benson on Law and Order: SVU from 1999 to 2011. Mariska will also be returning to make an appearance as Olivia Benson, Stabler's ex-partner, in Organized Crime. Dylan McDermott has also announced that he is set to star alongside Chris, although, the role which he will be playing in the series is still unknown.
Furthermore, Bones alumna Tamara Taylor will also be playing a lead role opposite both Chris and Dylan in the spinoff, as per another source. In February, it was also announced that Danielle Moné Truitt is set to star opposite Chris, Dylan, and Tamara in the series.
